i was sorting out a load of old mags the other day and came across an article that was the rage back then ,it was about fishing for cod from dovers piers .they were using whiting that had been inflated with a needle into the swim bladder ,app they had some good results .well it cant have been that good as folk would still be doin it .

I was planning on giving the old livebaiting for cod a go this year from Whitby pier - no inflation though, just the small hook/big hook rig. Knowing my luck though I\'d struggle to catch the small one!

Mike, I remember reading about that off Yarmouth beaches years ago when there were more big fish about. I\'m sure it will still be worth a try on a second rod when plenty whiting are about as I expect it to be a bit of a waiting game.

I know looking on some of the more southern based sites that they use it a lot with pout for bass with good results.
