Any quiet float fishing spots?

Anyone got any suggestions for nice, quiet spots along the Northumberland coast suitable for a bit of float fishing? I'm not fussed about filling up the freezer with bin bags full of mackies or looking for specimens or anything, just looking for somewhere nice and quiet for a relaxing few hours watching a float bob about, or maybe chucking out a lure if the fancy takes me.

(Oh, and no terrifying mountain-goat-only marks please! ;))

How about the rocks up the beach at Alnmouth? They look like they might drop off into pretty deep water?

Welcome to NESA yorkio. You could try Whitley bay at St. Marys lighthouse or the pipe. Good chance of Wrasse at St. Mary's and a few species such as Coley and Mackerel off the pipe. Calm conditions are best obviously, but don't try to fish the pipe if there is any sea running at all or it will have you off.

Best of luck wherever you try mate.

never done it but always wanted to fish on the bottom for flatties on the float

done it for pike loads of times ,so might try it later on this year at the business park
