As above but cam sometimes be about 4.30 if there was a solar eclipse the day beforeLike said 16th of June normally about 4 o'clock mate

16th of june usually m8.
HA HA HA!! Nice oneI heard one shoal got held up in Iceland and another in the Faroes for illegal congregation in groups of more than 1,000. The authorities did a trawl of all their usual haunts and scooped them all up. Even the young ones were taken into custody. They have had a net thrown round them and it looks like they have had their chips. Apparently they were all served up on a plate.
The rearguard is attempting to bye pass those Islands and are due in the UK at the end of the month. However inevitably, numbers will be reduced.![]()
HA HA HA!! Nice one
However I reckon the Mackarel will arrive at 18.00 hours o'clock on 5th June, at the end of Steetleys (be a brave man to go there for them though)
I've never even heard of macralle. Is that some kind of seaweed or what?
Expect them late this year, often it is late May early June from the Tyne in any real numbers but this year we are 3-5 weeks behind so from the shore it good numbers i would guess mid to back end of June.
Not one yet reported by angling boats and the south west Scotland that often gets them early May sometimes April has just seen the first few this week but next to none.
Also expect them to become far less with no law on how mnay the Iceland fleet can take now.
Last year we had so many that you could have stopped the boat anywhere on the north sea and there was a swarm underneath. You could have left the boat and walked on them!
I joined charters at Hartlepool where the usual subjects, the Polish Anglers, pulled thousands out...hours and hours of full houses...
Way to go until they are fished out I reckon
I personally think the 8C water temperature is the stumbling point. Once we reach mid teens they will arrive in number
You will have to get your freezer stocked Mark.
