Any wonder surfing has eclipsed fishing with the last few years?

Catch Report "In the Whitley Bay Area"

The arrogance of some of these catch reports and anglers in general. How many times I've noticed bloated ego alighned with such confidence that dare they pronounce a rock mark within 20 meters of their recent sucess this will in some way will "deplete fish resource" or "run counter against some vain glorious ethos" that you must waste your time for 15 years before you acquire the 'knowledge' to fish traditional marks and be accepted amongst some weather worn jumped up cynical old timers.

Imagine surfers being so full of pride about some break here there or wherever. No wonder sea angling is the poor cousin of every other watersport, with the attitudes of most involved.

And the for the record. I fished the 'whitley bay area' last night [north wilkies] and landed 2 fish: a cod of 7"3 and one on 1"12. I then moved onto panama and got two more of 3"5 and 1"4.

There you have it.

No wonder the inclusiveness of surfing has backwatered sea angling.
Its a pseudo-exclusive sport these days. All the pity.

big words

big words

do you take drugs coz you aint making much sense sounds like you gell of the experienced guys bless your ass dude lol

I've came to the conclusion that you're just a trouble maker after what you tried to say about me in a previous thread, and now this incoherent ramble.

Surely youve caught a 7 inch cod before keith? Although I do agree with the sentiment of the argument to some degree, did it really have to be put in such a pompus way?

Photos would be nice ,seems to be some big fish getting caught from the "Whitley Bay Area" - i am at work ,but when you get in from school ,can you put a few pics up :D:D

and i am only joking with you by the way - i also agree with some of your post ,but haway man ,you could have put it a bit better ,your 9 posts tell me you were not on here last year when we went through the "Mark X" , "Mark XX" and i think someone had even fished "Mark XXX" ,but we all knew that mark didnt exist ,so we ignored that post :cool:

Chill man - ,now that i am sorted ,i will be out this weekend ,and if i catch anything i will post the sat nav directions for you

what is this guy talking about

what is this guy talking about

yep morton mate i think you have lost the plot, have you been admitted recently, if you have'nt consider doing so cos i did'nt understand what you have said in your post.

Is he arguing with himself or is this pointed at someone???? I have a 'mark x' and everyone on here knows it lol I have stopped with catch reports because there have been instances where I can't get to my normal spot and trawlers have been seen. As for not sharing info, some people spend a lot of time trying different spots, why should they give up valuable info on how/when to fish a mark??? Go and find your own mate, and while you're on a personality transplant wouldn't go amiss. I can see why Jim has 'that' phrase on his signature.

Take some advice and chill out bud, you'll find a lot more friends that way.;)

I seen this post at 3.30am and waited the backlash :) never bothered posting a reply thou..never seemed any point...it said it all :)

I don't know why anyone even bothers to reply to people like morton. He is what is known as a troll or a WUM at least. He gets off on causing trouble on forums and sits back laughing at the results.

morton23, I sent you a PM on the 13th of October asking you about your post accusing Gaverick of shouting at People. You have completely ignored it, as I expected really. If you do want to get in touch with me now, then you will have to send me an Email as you can't log in now to cause your trouble. You will have to find another way to get yourself off now.

I thought about banning you after your last little outburst but decided against it, I knew you would be back to make your mouth go again. This time though everyone that thought bad of Gaverick will now know what a tosser you really are.

Jim.

Moving back to the point that was being made lads, how difficult is it really we know most of the marks fish best after dark so get off your backside get the dog and go for a wander. its quite difficult to keep yourself hidden with a halogen bulb strapped to your head!!

I admired his eloquent prose, very "Olde English" (probably what he's been drinking until 3am as well)

he is right in someways as there is and has been a lot of cloak and dagger in angling for years, that aside its a stupid post and he is no doubt looking to stir the poop like jim says:)

i dont normaly bother gethhing involved with posts like this but just to pick another fault in the original post, i've been surfing for ni-on 13 years and surfers do have 'secret breaks' that they surf and dont tell anyone, there is often articals in surf magizines such as 'Wave Length' that go on for 3 or 4 pages and wont actuall tell you were the break is becuase if they did everyone and there brother would be there the next time theres a roll on, you've got to put the work in and find where the waves are best in different conditions and when you do the lats thing you want is 30 other guys paddeling out into the line up, much the same as fishing, if you put in the hours looking for holes and finding when they fish and invertably when they dont fish the last thing your going to do is post tell teh world so next time you go down you cant fish it because you cant get on the mark after you've done all the ground work.

A final point to anyone who is just starting out and whats a few pointers on marks, as i was not too long ago, there are meny people on this site who will give you a helping hand and point you in the right direction or even better still ask people when there out and if you can join them, you'll find alot of people on here will have no problem taking you to a mark and helping you out, if they can.
