I don't think it has that great a reputation, Ive only ever had small codling and heavy gear losses there.

good for rag worm in the summer on big tides.
Expect to lose alot of gear if you are fishing it.

I would guess you meen fishing into the river Tyne from the middens rocks which is a low tide shot on a decent size tide. Fish on the east side of the old wreck of a jetty east of the fish quay or the island about 250mtrs east of there.

the sooner u can get on them the better, meaning wadeing over waste deep but strong pull underfoot with big tides so better 2 get some1 who knows the way on 2 take u on m8.
i know lads that have fished them many times & have still ended up going over & getting a good soaking that isnt good in dead of winter.
