Hi has anyone tried or owned one of these and if so whats your opinion please also how do they differ from mkl

I've had a few casts with the mk2 and can vouch for its casting ability it's a very steely rod in the lower section it's classed as a mixed ground rod I would say it would be ok over the lighter ground this rod is at home on the beach there's plenty scaffolding poles out there for the rough stuff check there website out some top names use this rod the guy who's rod it was said it was lighter than the mk1 but not that You could notice but the tip was definitely a bit stiffer I'm a zziplex man and I'd say it's close to the action of the M4 GT but we won't go into that argument you could do a lot worse getting something else me personally I'd get it in blank form and build it yourself

Currently using one myself.Very nice rod,can't compare it with the mk1 though as never had one.Amazing bite detection on it.

I've tried the MK1 and was very impressed, strong lower down but plenty sensitivity in the tip. I'm told some think the MK2 not as good but lighter and still a decent rod. Only held one in the shop but looking at them myself so would be interested to see opinions also.

Think their a cracking rod.Powerful butt with a cracking tip section....probably a bit overkill for what i'm using it for mainly upriver marks,could've got away with the standard match version or even the mk1 match truth be told.

I've used mine for about 4 or 5 sessions now (all on ssp or roker pier). I like it, its lovely to cast, nice soft tip, then plenty of power in the butt to hit it (It doesn't brake my back like a lot of the stiffer rods ive used). The tip is very sensitive, you can feel the lead hit the bottom even in windy/lumpy conditions.
The first couple of times I used it in the wind I was using 5oz and I thought the tip was too soft, it was wobbling around quite a bit; so started using 6oz and with the line tight it curves in and holds bottom really well, without moving around. (it casts 6oz and big bait no bother).
I've not had a decent fish on it yet though so don't know what its like bringing a fish in!

Good advice. Andy has bought and sold a million rods so is speaking from experience
