Anyone hear about this?

Suprised that didn't make the Chron or Journal - just had a search on both their sites and can't find owt about it.

its good to hear there out there doing there job but its a shame there not watching the piers etc for the polish guys etc who keep taking all they catch undersize mainly and not putting a fish back.

was this from pots - the guy it seems is on disability benifit, what a daft admission to make

cott's solicitor told the court his client was in receipt of disability benefit. He was fined £66 for landing the undersized lobsters and £66 for being in breach of the by-law, plus £100 costs and a £15 victim surcharge fee.

as has been said be nicer to see them taking the e.u guys to task, steely has been well reported for it

Dunno, but keep in mind that you can be on DLA for a lot of different reasons. What did get me though is why that should matter since it's not means tested - he could still be in full time employment, seems the solicitor was just using that to soften the penalty.

I did like the bit where he got hit for a "£15 victim surcharge fee" - reads as if he was paying the lobsters compensation :D

We get a canny few of them come up this way....I watched one up to no good 2 winters ago, it was nigh on dark, and he was right down the rock ends with no torch or anything up to no good. Got the local plods number on me phone now though for future encounters.
