my mate has just been given a beachcaster and the bloke who gave him it said it was the bees knees... years ago
the only identifying things are as follows...

HAND MADE IN ENGLAND
AIKEN MODEL "S"
and union jacks flags on each side of the writing
it looks like it was originally 12 ft long but now has an extension on the butt...
it has a stiff butt about 4ft long and the tip looks about 8ft.. and seems to be a "J" curve blank... with plenty of power about it, it is rung for a multiplier with fuji eyes
it looks like its carbon or a carbon mix as it doesnt feel like fiberglass...

any info about it would be appreciated like what decade they were from... cost etc...
cheers

paul i am sure i had one of these 30 years ago.
aiken is the guy who made these rods down in london
the s is for superflex
the reel fixing was brass on the one i had.

i may be wrong but it sounds like i one i had.

I was also given an aiken rod when i first started to sea fish. When i first joined nesa i asked about this rod but i did'nt get any replies so i thought it must have been a rod nobody had heard of .Mines in the garage ,it used to be 12 foot but about 6 inches got snapped off .Its an Aiken model S202 and it's rod no is 7RRS.

thanks lads,
all the info is well recieved, also i have been told that they were conoflex blanks( cod 5 or 6) re-badged
cheers
