Taking my mate out friday for his second time fishing.. anyone out friday ? where do we all think will be fishing well ?

oh and got no interset in mackie bashin so rule that out straight away

This time of year if the sea was flat I would be looking for a rock mark with plenty of kelp to fish into. Unfortunately Friday low tide is 15 :59 and it's just a littlun too. High water is 22:12 so you are limited to where you can go. If you are thinking of a pier then you will be fishing next to the Mackie bashers that you have no interest in lol. Not a perfect idea if you are bottom fishing mate.

Try having a ride up to Craster and walking about 500 yards towards Dunstanburgh Castle just past the island. Always a chance of catching a red Codling up that way and you can fish the tide up or down.

Watch the rocks if they are wet though as they are lethal.

Jim.

I'll wave across to Jarra

I'll wave across to Jarra

I'll be on the opposite side of the Tyne tonight fishing North Shields again...

I'll let you know how I get on.

Head for North Shields fish quay - and there's a big car park that looks out into the bay...

It's well lit at night and the "beach" is literally at your feet...I say "beach" coz when it's a big tide it's only about a couple of feet wide.

Only need a 30yd cast onto the sandbanks/mudflats

I would see you on friday....

....however - I'll be getting muddy at Glastonbury!!!

I've been fishing a running ledger type rig with beads on the snood...1/0 aberdeens and worm/crab bait - although I'll be trying lug and mussel tonight.

I'm even taking my spinning rod tonight as well - coz last time I was there the mackerel were chasing the sandeels around the bay at about dusk.
