I have a Penn Surfmaster 850 and they are a canny reel - although havn't had a big un hung up to really test it - however, saying that It pulls all the crap & weed in just as easy as the 525.

The reviews I've read on these reels are quite mixed like so dunno what to do!

as above both good reels- but could try daiwa basia for ultimate casting with new nanofil line and shocker, or the okuma distance pro with 65lb whiplash braid no shocker. get both its nearly xmas/////1

Penn 850 all day for me mate I love mine and as already said at can pull in well.got mine off ebay for £49.00 inc postage.
