2-piece super strong Ugly Stik Charter 20-30lb boat rod with sensitive glass tip.
If you use one I would like your opinion on this rod.:)
Thank you in advance.

I've got the 15lb 2 piece and it's brill :), the glass tip locks up perfectly, i use it for wrecking and rough, really is a good rod :)

Yeah similar to chris I got the 12-20lb version (not the charter one) .. excellent (I also have two other older ugly sticks 20 -30lbs, great rods)

Cheers I bought the charter one because it seems like a good rod i have yet to try it, I snapped one of my rods last week and I always like to carry a spare for that reason.

mad as fish,
a lot of rods are broken not because of any fault or weakness of a manufacturer but because of the angler, he will try to lift and swing his fish in right on the limit of the rods capabilities. if you have a fish on and you are swinging it in the tip is effectively trying to do a 180 degree bend and they are not designed for that, I did the same on my greys perker by the way and should have known better. i was lucky and just put a new top eye on, it will not happen again i'll tell you i love that rod.
I like good gear as everyone does but when splashing a lot of coin out the mind may drift a bit and then bang tip is snapped.
the rod in question is very good and you will love it, but just bear it mind, if in doubt gaff or net or handball it up, don't knack your new baby
.
great rod happy fishing.

Thanks for the post Paul I always hand lift net or gaff fish depending on size, the rod that it snapped just after i hooked into something very big on a wreck so I had no choice but to try to get it up with the rod because it was deep and as it was coming up it i felt a very powerfull lunge and the rod snapped resulting the loss of a very big fish.
I had a very big fresh maccy bait on at the time, so i am thinking it could have been a Conger eel, i will never know what it was.
On the bright side i have a new rod cant wait for my next day out:)
Thanks matey.
