apparently there a match next weekend

Biggest win for the last 54 years.

Super never makes a mistake Bramble got send off for a "goal scoring opp" foul but 3-0 up at that point anyway.

two questions,
is this the biggest defeat in a tyne/wear derby

Newcastles biggest win was 6 - 1 (1955)

Sunderland managed to give us a tanking 9-1 at St James in 1908

amidst all this, a big up for Chris Hughton is in order I reckon, especially from the Ashley. The guy is the lowest paid manager in the premier league, doesn't get a permanent contract, and all ashley's london media chums have been reveling in the pile of bollocks they've been printing along the lines of 'sack Hughton'

Ashley has given the guy no recognition at all for what he has achieved without being given anything to spend on players, and having his hands tied over who has been sold.

I can see it all now, end of the season, we do ok, top ten finish, ashley cans him and brings in some complete joke of a 'Big Name' manager. Sounds outrageous but bet you would get very good odds against it from the bookies

the treatment of Hughton by the Press is outrageous

He's a decent man, honest and humble - so they have to make **** up to get column inches

if they get rid of him if Newcastle survive I have a feeling there'd be a riot - literally

I agree its all London paper talk, nothing in our papers and not heard anyone this season say they want him out.

All paper talk and he seems such a nice person that the players will work hard for.

Nolan said today we did that for Chris because of the bad time he has had this week.

I think most fans would take staying in the prem, 9th 10th top half a bonus :)

Well you would think my work was acting out the film the Body Snatchers, half the peple walking around not saying a word and white...unlike the Friday before when it was loud and proud.

Being the half glass empty person that i am...i will expect nothing more than a drew at Sunderland as Sunday will have hurt and i bet they cant wait to put it right..well try to anyway :)

no-one has libeled him. nothing derogatory has been said about him as a person or his abilities, all that was said was that he was under pressure to be sacked or he was going to be sacked

no libel case there at all

A great result for the toon. Newcastle were up for the match, the Sunderland lads were not!! As for the return leg, goodness knows what will happen there.
