Fished just off the Rat House coner tonight, rod stand blew over down on to the concrete, one leg broke off the stand, twisted one of the rings and cracked another on my Kompressor Sport, also busted my Penn Supermag to bit\'s :(

i think all us northern boys should sue that southern poof as he claims his stands dont fall over when they clearly do on many occasions, even when theres little wind.
oi golds i want £85 for my repair on a snapped rod you c**t

Finally snapped the plastic cup on my Golds stand last Sunday after dislodging it and bending it a few times. Bought a replacement \"unbreakable one\" (aluminium bent into cups and lined with foam) for about £4.

On the other side was fishing down Portsmouth last month and Ian Golds was the match referee. He came across as a really nice bloke. A few lads who were talking to him on the beach and spoke to him before we went said he was really helpful and knowledgable. even if his stands are cr*p ;) ;)

gogs you wanna see the state of my golds tripod ,its been blown ower more times than i care to remember ,twice when ive had new rods on it ,think these southerners dont know what wind is m8

This morning I rang the shop Poingdestres in Southampton where I bought the Ian golds Supermatch rod rest, spoke to a gentleman called Steve. Explained that it had blown over in the wind, and one of the legs had broken off. They were very good about it and said they would have a brand new full set up sent out in the post today, and I would receive it tomorrow. I asked him do I owe you any postage and should I send the broken one back, he said no money for postage was necessary and just keep the broken one.
First Class Service :D

we all should get on to ian goulds himself and tell him his rest are shitto many plastic parts and all that crap about them not falling over ive had two both fell over and those plastic cups shattered both times he must be making a mint on replacements he should be done for false advertising

jeez I thought it was me standing it wrong, My golds tripod blew over, the spool spindle on my slosh30 punched a hole in the side plate, had to renew it. and it was second time before Daiwa sent me the right part.

best ones are the all ali/steel ones there was a review in i think last months tsf that the one i use no cheap plastic cr@p on them

ian golds are a total waste of cash

Bought one off eBay from Rods and Sods. All aluminium and never blown over. Only cost £29 as well!
