Nearly spat my bacon buttie out on sunday morn reading this ( i found a copy of the sunday sun on way home from church..heheheheh)
i once fished next to lad in question, about 5 yards away. i had 2 flounder. Jim dobie had 5 flounder to his right and this young lad who kept pinching my bait elastic all day had 11 flounders
so apart from owing me half a spool of elastic he is a top class angler.

think ya getting mixed up mate, we aint referring to chrissy as the 17 yr old, the lads name is Mathew who we are referring to, i was texted by his dad John yesterday about the article, Mathew has always done well in the amble opens.
Johnnynez, how ya doing mate, long time no hear, yep i know the story about the flatties and the bait elastic lol
i dont know mathew m8, but i do know chris . what i was trying to say is if you cant catch the fish ( like me ) dont knock those that can after putting loads of hours getting top bait and doing there homework or should i say away from home work by fishing all over finding out where to fish in what conditions and then on the day trying to get to the right place , with the right bait and get the right fish . some can get it right after loads of practice like chris and loads of other top anglers . i just cant get the sums right , but i dont call those that can apart from good luck in the future and keep up the hard work . as for mathew all i can say if he is doing well , keep it up and take tips off other good anglers like jim dobie as i know he is not shy about helping others,might not get his secret bait but he will help anyone that will listen .and go out and enjoy his fishing and stuff any greeneyed monsters that call names . best of luck then skill to anyone having a bash at this great sport .
Glad this petty nonsense has been highlighted in the national press and even happier that it is being stopped on this forum.
I rarely ever visit the fishing forum mentioned by Allan in his article as I got fed up with the petty jealousy of faceless morons who make accusations without any evidence at all.
