Fished Horden, just off the white rock from 8-12.30. Few bites, managed a tiny codling and 2 flatties. First session this year due to pulled muscle in back, just pleased to be out again and to catch something. Fished 2 rods and all fish were on upper hook of scratching rig. Not a method I usually use, but shall be experimenting more as not a knock on my clipped distance rig. What rigs do you guys use most?

I fished the other night with big baits on a pennel rig and was getting plenty knocks but no hook ups...so I changed down to a scratching rig "to see" what was out there and straight away a little tommy codling...

Scratching is good for keeping the interest going but I guess it's a case of whether you really want to hook into the small stuff during a pleasure session...that said I've caught plenty of legal size fish on scratching rigs so if you're fishing a match then they can be a lifeline
