Another poor turn out of only 6 members fishing 2 til 6 over low water. Sea state very dirty and a fair few swells coupled with the constant rain made it a poor day. Only 2 people weighed in.

1st Marty Elliott 1 codling 5 lb 12 ozs Seahouses
2nd Paul Foster 1 codling 2 lb 1 ozs Newton

Cheers

Yep well done Marty, lost a bleezer myself today at Beadnell but managed a small consolation fish anyway.

Gary :)

was that a spelling mistake for blenny gary never heard offbleezer before haha :red:

No Davy, certainly wasn't a blenny! About halfway through the match I hooked into something that turned into 10 minutes of tug of war through about 60 yards of kelp, then about 30 yards out it put it's head down behind a rock & sliced through my hook-length. Then with about 15 minutes to go Steve Williams who was a few yards to my right hooked something that gave him a right battle before pulling the hook.

I don't know if it was the same fish, we never got to see it but would hesitantly say it was a very good fish. I heard that Gav Owen at Newton also got smashed up by a good fish, so three of us could have had a potential winner - but that's fishing I suppose!

Gary :)

feel gutted for you gary ,know the feeling landed a twenty pounder in the tynemouth open and twenty minutes later had a bigger one nearly on the deck untill another angler struck at a bite and snapped me off, still i,ve always been a jammy begger ,roll on the winter davy :red:
