bait digging

You can only dig in allocated areas on Holy Island causeway. Budle Bay is completely out of bounds and some harbours have local restrictions in place. I think there are rules for Boulmer Beach as well. Im sure someone on here will be able to tell you what they are. Appart from that you can pretty much dig anywhere as far as Im aware (again, someone may put me right). Just remember to fill your holes back in so people dont trip on them!

Your right about holy island and budle bay bujt they carnt stop you digging any where at bulmer

From the car park at boulmer there's a line of boulders that run down thw middle of the beach, digging is only aloud to the right of them although a lot of people don't take any notice of this. This is a bye law which was passed quite a few years ago because of the numpties digging next to the boats and causing the tractor to get bogged down and stuck in the soft sand left by old diggnigs, there used to be a notice with a map on it at the car park.

Another place to dig is at hauxley this is where people dig yellow tails on big tides

You are calling people numpties and you don’t even no the law but first I don’t agree if someone digs next to the boats that is wrong as far as the bylaw goes it is very misleading if you read it right they cannot enforce it. any fisherman has the right to dig bait anywhere on that beach
if you were to look in to it diggers have more right to be on the beach than people taking their dog for a walk or even taking your kids onto the beach to play.
The bylaw you are talking about say the only people allowed on the beach are the land owner, people who have a licence from the land owner , and people who have a right to be there and that is where anglers fit in. The government had to include these 3 categories so that it could be passed as a lawful document
