There\'s either 2 mussels in shot one or it\'s already been opened and you\'ve blutacked it back together for shot 2. Plus the knife in the last shot has a much longer blade. WHAT IS GOING ON???? :o

Ell, I think the final image has been stretched horizontally, making everything look a bit longer.

Gonna have a photo of me uploaded soon which has been stretched VERICALLY, so that I look taller........lol

Ofcourse........this could just be ME answering my own question, here ;)

Nee one mentioned jiggery pokery or the use of elastic trickery on them pictures. In one picture the knife is short and stubby, in another it is not, to me that smacks of knife replacement. And there still isn\'t any earthly explanation for the Mussell number discrepency.

30 all

Nowt to do with the shelling of mussels......but I just seen this on the \'net.........LOL.....

\"Northeast anglers prefer their bait mussel to be high and long past freshness. They use an unusual method to get them just right. Having shelled the mussel they place them in muslin bags or even inside a pair of ladies tights, hang them on the washing line and leave them exposed to the air for a couple of days. This both toughens them and obviously increases their smell.\"

Oh.....Do we???? Don\'t think I\'ve EVER stored them in THAT way......and I\'ve lived in the N.E all my life......never heard of ANYBODY else using their wifes\' tight in this way, either......lol

I suppose I had better clarify the double mussel shot for you the Ell EH! ;)
I actually scaled both of the said mussels, one I did with shots of my hands in the piccy and the other as you see in the post, and TC was Correct (once again) I stretched the last shot, just to see if I could.
Not very good with Camera\'s and comps, i\'ll stick to fishing in future.
Trust you to pick me up Ell ;)
Good job on the mussel tho even if I do say so myself :P
If you look really close you will see that it has 15lb cod written all over it :P :P :P :P

Sat and shelled 3lb this morning and used Pauls \"straw method\" before I froze them down. Only managed to fill 10 straws, and I started with a carrier bag full!

Tala, well done on a very pictorally informative mussel presentation, you learn something new every day. Now to get the auld butter knife out and gring it down to shape, i have used a pen knife in the past and both the mussel and my fingers have suffered, will try shelling with the shortened knife. ;)

Cheers JAW.
