Hi all, going to give the beach at Bamburgh a go when I arrive in less than a week :)

Any tips? Bait, distance out, gripper leads etc.

Don't fish the beaches much when I go out, more a rock fisherman so all advice is appreciated.

Cheers,

Jim

Thanks mate, I know the area you're referring to, just before the Stag Head rock?

I suppose the problem ill have is access to live worms as the nearest tackle shop is either Amble or Berwick!!!

Thanks again,

Jim

game fair in berwick DONT sell live bait, cant see how frozen mackeral aswell as frozen blacks from petshop in seahouses will be ok to use or if possible buy worms on way up at amble. tight lines. ps yes thats the fishing area i go to. tight lines.:thumbup:

Thanks for the advice on Berwick not doing live bait. I've come up with a brilliant plan!

I'm going to get the bait delivered to the holiday house, £7 postage is less than I'd pay for the file if use to go and come back from Amble.

I'll post pictures of all my fish here...Blank!!

Managed a couple of hours with my light rock fishing gear in Seahouses, caught loads of Coalies and some huge Blennies!

Off to the beach later this week to try for some flatties.

Cheers,

Jim

Hi all, went to Amble for rag worm and they'd sold out!!

So I fancy my chances in digging some lug worms, my only problem is that I don't have a spade or fork apart from a kids beach spades.

So my question is, is it worth it? Will the spades be man enough for the job? How deep so I need to dig?

Cheers,

Jim

fork

fork

high jimmy reg again, your not having much luck bait wise, i was at that fishing location last thursday were the small hut is.was getting water was hoping to meet you,i had loads of bait, you could of had enough for a session. anyway got an idear for you. buy a FORK from argos just before you get into berwick keep you receit ,dig at berwick beach left of pier, l/w about 11.30 tomorrow you should easily be able to dig enough for a session. then make some excuse back at argos about fork,ie to heavy to long what ever, hopefully you should get a refund. ps so looks like you have to travel again for your bait. berwick approx 22 miles from your location.you can leave family in main street, to do some shopping. tight lines.:thumbup:

Thanks mate, Argos is a good idea. Out of interest is the Banburgh area better at rising tide or low or does it not matter?

Thanks again.

Jim

2 hours

2 hours

,jimmy think i mentioned it before i found fished best 2 hours before h/w,only 30 40 yards cast, not like on the skiers when l/w and on the flood is best, ps curious jimmy where you from. tight lines.:thumbup:

north outta bamburgh about 3 minutes in the car, just before the bay where all the bird watchers go and where all the lads go kit surfing. you will usually see all the vans parked up on the road side. look on google maps its the only stone jetty beofre the bay....

I could be wrong but I don't think I'm digging deep enough! I think the little worms are not the ones that made the cast!

Any advice? I guess my sand castle spade isn't man enough?

Great, I'll give it a go. I'll need to buy a fork as I think I need to dig deeper. I'd read that you're not allowed to dig worms in Budle bay or is no longer the case?

Cheers,

Jim
