You might remember a little while ago I was after getting a 5 string banjo (one with a bit of "use" and character to it, well.....
ended up having to order a brand spanking new one.

Ordered it over the 'net on Monday - posted the cheque off on Tuesday...............it arrived TODAY :D

Should anybody need to get anything in the musical instrument area, I can thoroughly recommend:

Their prices, service and delivery are excellent.

Jim......it'll be a while yet, m8.....lol.
Just looking at the emoticon you put up......did you know that you can get electric banjos for headbanging?

Sless....Dueling banjos......what a classic tune......give me a couple of years and you never know.....lol.
Did you know that Billy Redden who played the character of "Lonnie" the banjo kid in Deliverence couldn't play a note?..... and that the director of the film had another child slip his hand through Redden's sleeve to finger the chord changes.

Here's a tune I've been wanting to learn on banjo for years:

No mate I didn't, would love to hear one though, must be amazing.

Here's a tune I've been wanting to learn on banjo for years:

Makes me wonder how they can pluck as fast as that mate. Dying to hear it when you have mastered it. ;)

Jim.

WOW ,now that's speed picking ,wor kid is quick on the guitar ,he was doing Satriani stuff at the age of 14 . Looks a great thing to learn that Tony.

I can play it on guitar Steve, But the banjo is a completely different instrument......5 strings instead of 6 and is tuned in rather a strange way compared to a guitar. It's basically learning a totally different instrument.

I'll get there, though (eventually).....lol

I wished for a long time that I had taken the time to learn to play a musical instrument, unfortunately I opted to play the fool lol.

I have come to terms with it now though, my voices however keep telling me different he he he.

No m8......nicked it off the tyre slashin' car scratchin' hillbilly who lives out the back from me

Hahahahaha nice one Tony. Time can be a wonderfull friend mate.

Jim.

Hehe ,I wonder where he's from Tony :D
I have a list of instruments I've begun to learn only to lose interest ,it started at the tender age of eleven ,the cello now that's a nice thing to be able to play ,and there are numerous things from there ,none of which took me over unfortunately , I do wish I'd had a chance at drumming ,anyway I've not got the interest anymore.

1st instrument I took up (or rather - was forced into learning through school) was the cornet. Music lessons weren't during school time - they were on a Saturday morning at a different school.
"Sod that", I thought......Saturday mornings????.......cornet????.....you couldn't rock with a cornet !

Didn't last long with that....lol

The cornet! I remember that lol. Was learning to play it in the Boys Brigade, as with most things at that time I got bored with it pretty quickly as I couldn't see anything much in it at all lol.

Jim.
