Barry Tweddle memorial match

Thanks for a great turnout on sunday for this match. Thanks to all the helpers who made the day possible, and a big thank you to all who donated prizes ( thanks to Terry Wood for the rod he donated which I was lucky enough to win). I agree with Harry Barkers comment about this becoming an annual event in the fishing calender. I think Twed would have been proud.

I did answer Harry Barker by PM after the talk of it being an annual event, better answer all on this thread. There is a lot you have to take into consideration before going ahead with an annual event, first and foremost are the feelings of the family. A few lads where talking about it becoming an annual event during the weigh in, all thought it was a good idea, of course it was also said, they doubt if it could be as big, great the donations for a one off, but could the same people be able to do that annualy, i don't think so. Stephen Grey of South Shields AC made avery good point, one of their memebers Paul Husrt was tragically killed, so they held the Paul Hurst memorial event, after the second event the family contacted South Shields AC and asked them not to hold another, as it brought back to many unhappy memories.

i agree alan. grieving is a long hard process, and having it brought back to the forefront year after year for the forseeable future doesn't sound right to me.

just thinking of his relatives mind.

speaking for myself i would like to have his memory kept alive in some way just like blyth keep the joppa memory going ,but the family wishes come first , jamcod
