Am thinking of doing some bass fishing at night have have been told a certain place up at cresswell is deadly for bass on the float dose anyone know what types of floats to use and set ups any help would be great cheers lads

Google controller floats mate. They use them at torness and are deadly for bass apparently. Couple of decent marks up the coast ;-)

when doing this type of float fishing do you have to retrieve the float or does it run in the tide

Not really sure mate.... Google knows all though!! Think you can do either with them... I'm sure there will be an example on YouTube!

I use the controller float for my bass ... I've a couple for sale in
Fact !!!!! The way you use them is by putting 4-5ft length of floro carbon
Line on them and using a red gill lure on the end !!! Simply cast out and
Retrieve slow if your getting nothing on the surface add a led shot about 2-3 inch in front of the eel this will get the lure just under the surface of the water but remember during the day use white red gill and during the night a
Black red gill this will give a silhouette in the water fishing in darkness;)

Use a slow retrieve, but best in strong tidle flows in the mouths of estuarys or th:e out flows of power stations , might work of the edge of the Carrs or the gap on a flooding tide (if the gap is still there).. for cresswell area I would just use 2 hook flappers in calmer conditions or a pulley rig if there's a surf running

You can also get good results with fresh rag, Gulp rag and Sandeel with this method.
