Half the fun is finding them, I dont think anyone will tell you there hard earned bass marks mate, i had a couple on lures last year but you've simpley just got to put the hours in.

I spent half a year looking for them in 2010, manager 4 in the end. It's a massive challenge, but the reward you get of catching them is amazing. All i would say is pick a likely spot and try it at different times / tides. If you catch, note the conditions

not everyone has the luxury of spending hours finding them though do they ! you dont need to broadcast it on here a simple pm would be nice

nick try a local harbour dawn or dusk of the rocks big tide required surface poppers or sandeels with lead head hooks last year a had macky pollack coaley and 2 bass.also try the mouth of a good flattie mark same tacktics with a few bonus sea trout! Hope this helps a bit m8 good luck they are there just öt loads of them

I know where your coming from bud.
I asked a lad if he knew where they were catching thorny's from at horden and he just replyed yer with a smiley face.
Lets face it its not as if your askn for the world just a bit info.
I think most of the lads who advertise the fact that they know where to catch everything really dont have a clue and they just taking the urine.

the way ah look at it is its a forum designed to help anglers both starting out and experienced. what with work and a family in which i play an active role in its hard to find hours and hours to do what you what.
ah just sent the lad a pm about as much as i know. simples.

tell me about it, I get out once every 2 weeks if I'm lucky, it took me 3 months of blanking and a whole lot more time checking out marks and tides online before I found a fish. Personally i think you would be able to get one from any mark up our coast when the conditions are right.

bass all along the coast mate, clean beaches and rock marks.

doubt any bass angler will give u specific marks as alot of people that put in the time and effort return their bass and would hate to see another angler turning up and keeping all the bass they catch:(

probabily 80% of my bass have been in darkness tho mate so i would say that'll deffinately increase ur catches of bass

Couldnt agree more, there aren't many marks you wont be able to get one from. Just try a likely looking spot a few times at different tides / weather and log results. I get out once a fortnight at the mo.....

A lot of people seem to think that because you become part of a forum that this gives you access to the specifics of another anglers knowledge. It doesn't work like that.

Why should anyone disclose exact information of a mark/species that they have taken years to build up?

What happens when you do??? You're favourite marks become swamped by other anglers, netted by commercials or the mark becomes a dumping ground for litter. This may not always be the case and some anglers will be discreet but I for one wont take the chance.

Bass/Thornback information has been disclosed by myself and other anglers on this site, what we have given is the basics - a good place to start. It is then up to the individual to put the remainder of the effort in to achieve success.

Nick1/Clarky dont spit the dummy when you dont get the exact information you want, you'll find specifics are never given out on any forum just the same as asking anglers about specifcs when meeting face to face.

I don't have countless spare hours to try for species or new marks as I have 3 kids, but I do learn something every time I go out and slowly build up my own knowledge.

You will only ever get out what you put in.

Tight lines fellas

Sean

well i think the forum is for people to share there knowledge and help others after all we are all anglers after the same thing FISH and if we dont help each other then who else is gonna help

Jesus!! I've caused some Controversy here, I was only being curious about Bass fishing lately, as I have said it was a long time since I caught a Bass, I haven't been sea fishing for about 3 years or fresh water fishing for a year.
All I wanted to know if Bass were still around the north east and approx location (i.e Blyth Beach, Whitley Beach).
I know Bass have been caught on Blyth, Whitley and Tynemouth beaches, also Lynemouth beach has produced some, Cambios used to be a good spot when the pipe was there from the power station, and also even heard reports of them up the Tyne as far as Scotwood, So I did not want exact locations, its just like other people on here some of us can't get out all the time due to family/work commitments.
So it would be nice if people did share info, as this is a forum site, and I have been looking on the boat fishing section and boats share info on there, but it doesn't have to be exact locations.
