Bass fishing

Hi
I have never been spinning for bass before, so anyone let me know where there some good fishing marks in the north east ? I am really looking forward to spinning for bass.
Thanks Steve.:D:

Bass are few and far between around here. Anglers have to put the hours in searching for where to fish, when to fish and how best to fish so understandably won’t readily give away their hard-earned info.
For a general chance, have a go off the beaches from May or June onwards.

not sure on spinning marks but look for places where the rocks get covered with a few feet of water at high tide and spin off their with surface lures, for beaches you can bait fish for them better known marks are, blyth beach cambios, seaton carew, druridge.

a lot of people will not give up their local bass marks as they will just be netted off

I am in the same boat (beach ?) as you. I have never caught a Bass yet but I am hoping to try to get one somehow this year. One Place I have heard mentioned (and is the top of my list) is the south end of South Shields big beach, Trow Rocks end. I have never fished it yet but I will be come the summer months as soon as I hear reports of Bass being around. I understand there are not many Bass around this coast though (or is that because not many people are fishing SS beach just beyond the third breaker ?). I am expecting many blank sessions looking for Bass, but worth a few tries !

Hendon Prom turns up the odd one from time to time and I witnessed one being caught there about 2 months ago. But probably not worth targetting them at Hendon ... or are we all casting too far ? Food for thought.

there are plenty of bass took on the north east coast, just people will not report or give marks away, plus a lot of people do not specifically target bass in the summer.

Search for places with a good tide flow, clear water but with a little surf and channels where the bait fish will be pushed into. In turn the bass will be following the bait. My favourite lure is the rapala maxrap as it casts a good distance and has a very realistic action. The pricetag is the only downside at around £15 from tackle shops. I usualy start fishing for them from mid july-mid september if the water stays clear and then target them with baits.
Put the time in and you will be rewarded however you will probably have more sessions without bass than with unless you are lucky:cool:
