Bass-flattie rod

Am considering both the Shakespeare Agility 11'6" bass and the Daiwa Theory 11'6" bass rod.
Both are coming in at around my sort of price range, however a general search for the Daiwa prices show anywhere up to and around £120 whereas the Shakespeare don't go much above the £55ish mark.

Is the Daiwa wrongly priced at £55 (Ebay from a proper shop), or is it a typical RRP v Selling offer setup?
I see there's a blue and an orange one. Are these the same?

Value for money Shakespeare v Daiwa?

Hi mate - I dont know about the Daiwa as I have never owned one.

I do however own a Shakey Agility and also a Shakey salt XT, which is basically the agility but bigger + more stiff
I can confirm the agility is a class rod mate, I liked mine so much that I upgraded to the Salt XT...although at 15ft the XT is a huge rod.

You can have no worries about buying the agility. I had mine up for sale on here a month or so back but did not want to go lower than £45 - excellent condition, rod bag - but nobody wanted to pay it....underrated rod!

Mick aka Toonboymc has a Daiwa Theory im sure he will give you some feedback on it, Im also sure i have seen the Theory from around £100-£130 so £55 seems a great price!!??

I've got an agility 15ft surf rod and its a very good rod so would imagine the bass rod is as well. very under-rated. ive got the agility reel as well and its excellent quality and very smooth.

just thinking ive got the salt mpv rod for flatties and bass and its brilliant also.
turning into a Shakespeare love in here!!!!!!!!!!!!::eek:

Had a Daiwa Bass rod for years until it got crushed in a van door. Replaced it with the Supercast Bass and was miles better. Got a Shakespeare Salt Flattie for 25 quid; it was lighter and can spin and float with it and my son uses it. I wouldn't worry too much about the price as I guess they are cutting the manufacturing costs as I'd say the Supercast is superior despite the flattie being about the best value rod I've ever bought.

The two daiwa rods are the sandstorm bass which is the yellow one,and the other is the supercast bass which I know somebody who had a 13lb kelpy on it they good rods but I think the best rod for v.f.m. is the salt flattie absolutely brilliant does everything I throw at it in the summer ;-);-):-D
