could any ov yous guys let me in on any good bass marks along our coast and a:confused and any sites on how to rig a float up cheers ladds

Use one hook snoods or two hook snoods...

Or - as some guys on here have advocated - put a flapper rig between the float and the bullet lead

Bass can turn up anywhere on our coastline. Try ledgering a single ragworm on a longish (3'+) trace on any of the beaches. (I prefer high water after dark)

caught quite a few bass on our coast but every one was a bonus fish while expecting to catch other fish ' not big fish with the largest probably pushing 2.5lb from lynemouth beach i've also had them from tynemouth beach ' seaton sluice ' blyth beach '.

Just a warning here lads , any post which specifies bass being caught at a specific location WILL result on the beach being netted the next day / night by commercial vessels ,it's been proven before on here so if you do get anything then keep it on PM to those concerned ,thanks chaps

I intend to try the continental method in the next few weeks.
I bought a cracking Grauvell Rod a few years back. Braided line, water filled bubble float, trailing a six foot trace, and a two inch white rubber sandeel, or light spinner/ bass fly.

Got to agree with Steve,I've never been a big fan of this Mark X carry on myself but its best to keep your catch report"s" to yourself,Bass are'nt caught in numbers around here whether thats because they are'nt there or we just dont target them I'm not sure but what ever is there will soon be gone especially over the summer months when the small Gill Net boats can get inshore

wot sort of lamp is it ?? put a 6volt bulb in instead of the 4.5volt that will be in it

Whilst in the tackle shop at Berwick i was looking at a weighted float.(small clear plastic float with some lead in the bottom) I was asking the guy about this and he said local anglers use the weighted float with a long trace and artificial sandeel as a lure to catch the Bass.
Wished i,d bought one now.

Carp anglers often use floats like these for surface baits, most tackle shops have these or a similar type, I'm sure they are called controller floats. Just looked in my boot, this is a 'Drennan 20gm surface controller' think I bought it from Frasers Gateshead. Its good fun on a carp rod, plus you can get a fair distance when casting, I was down shields with frozen sandeels last week.
