Bass Quota

Hi all,
I have been reading that another new Bass regulation has been introduced by the EU effective from the 1st January 2016. As I understand it ALL Bass are to be returned to the water by shore and recreational boat anglers from then until July although commercial boats can still catch 1.5 tonnes of Bass a day. From July recreational anglers are allowed 1 Bass a day. Apparantly it is us shore anglers causing 25% of the bass take that is killing the fish stocks and not the commercials catching tonnes of Bass.

Anyone know if this new law is true or not..?

Happy New Year folks, ( excluding Bass anglers obviously ).

It seems that I do know how to post links, yes the government is potty, and weak ,
Bass are caught more regular than people think ,you hear of a few here and there caught by people targeting other spiecies but if a bit time and effort in targeting them you would be surprised at the quality and quantity of bass on the north east coast

be interesting to know the enforcement policy and if the regulator can cope:D.
can't be bothered to read through the rifts of sh,t written in their booklets but with more legislation and government cuts how do they regulate?
what a fuk.n joke,
by the way these comments are in respect of rsa only.

Having watched French and Scottish paired beam trawlers hoovering up entire shoals of Bass in the English channel (not to mention Dolphins) when I lived in devon, the effects of anglers are greatly exaggerated!

I have only ever caught one, that was when I was mackerel fishing, signed up tho' :) The quicker we come out of the e.u. the better.

if anyone has a look along blyth beach from meggy's burn to seaton sluice harbour, all this rain has washed freshwater worm and bait down.
there raking them in, and from what I've been told their not counting them.......!
