I don't think you are wasting your time mate...at the end of the day that is prime fishy type territory if there's Bass/Pollacky type things about there's no reason why they woulnd't be there

That sounds like a fab idea for a few sticky posts
Why not pick each species and start a thread for it, including what peoples experiences are of best time to fish/baits/type of ground/rigs etc and then filter out the usefull threads, so you can have ie: sticky Cod, Bass, Pollock, Flatties etc etc
I reckon that would be a huge help to newbies like myself and if you meta tagged it right you would end with huge site hits, just remeber to meta tutorial,guide,plan etc, then with big hits comes advertising.

Great idea in an "ideal" world...but in the year that I've been back into fishing, I've learnt one thing - Anglers are more secretive about tactics/spots/baits etc than the Knights Templar and Opus Dei are about the Holy Grail whereabouts.
Don't get me wrong I've gleaned loads and loads from various sites but the best plan is to get out there and fish your socks off - if it doesn't work first time try something different and so on
Flatties - I prefer a single hook running ledger with Crab or worms baits (no beads) yet other peeps will say 2 hook flappers with beads. Best time to catch? depends on the venue - the rivers would be best fished when the tide is up other wise you're generally fishing into mud. Yet you can fish Wansbeck/Cambois beach with the tide waaay out.
Cod - 6/0 pennel pulley for me everytime. Whitley Beach is a preferred venue as it's got the lot I reckon as far as habitat for Cod to mooch about in...I'd say it is a low tide venue generally with a bit of sea running, but there are spots that'll fish when the tide is in...it's a case of knowing when and where is best at which time. Unfortunately, like I said earlier these are generally personally held secrets - so mostly these things have to be figured out yourself
Bass - learnt early on that no one will divulge a Bass hot spot, but if you use your common dog you can easily figure out where they could be...sandy surfy type beaches...look for holes at low water etc
The internet is a great resource, but I think the greatest strength of this site is that you can actually meet the peeps on it if you chose to do so (which I know you have) THAT is when you get your best help and advice...coz unfortunately there are too many lurkers out there that will take the info and give nowt back - which is mainly why people are reluctant to post all their hot tips on forums such as these

ronvik you are the youtube ninja , i bought the vid off a lad on here the other month that is what inspired me to try it down there ,only thing i caught was tennis elbow of the rsi

I agree, no amount of advice equals personal experience, but i was just thinking of a rough guide, like a point in the right direction.
Remember, not everyone who visits this site has years of experience under they're belt, and you'd be suprised how reluctant newbies like myself are to ask sometimes, for fear of sounding stupid to otherwise in-house common knowledge.
But I also respect safegaurding hotspots.
And yeah, thanks to this site I've made some new friends who do have experience and are willing to teach so I guess in retrospect that is far more valuable than any "Sticky" post would ever be.

The internet is an amazing place for info. ya can find anything! its addictive but great for learning and researching new marks via sat-photos, maps etc....
i`m finding new places to fish all the time and where no-one has ever been, away from the crowd.

Some choose not to share at times(fair enough) some go the extra mile with maps included and everything in between. Most anglers are anything but secretive about their successes and when and where they happened. You do anglers and NESA a great disservice to suggest otherwise Sir

In fact I even ackowledged in later comments how much info I personally have gleaned from this site

AND you just gotta keep trying and trying! fish move around feeding at different times of the day and different states of tide. but what we do know of bass is that they are around these rocky areas when the tide is on rize.
try working your plugs/spinners at different speeds. one good way to provoke a predator fish into taking a lure is to tie a large salmon-fly/sea-fly, about a foot or so above the lure (on a 3" snood.)
