Beadnell - Dunstinbourgh

Picked up Carl early yesterday for a little sech up Northunberland, We got to beadnell before High tide and chucked a few lures around trying to find a fish, after a hour or so with out a take we made the desision to shift to Dunstinbourgh Castle. It turned out to be a good move, Fist chuck, band fish on, Nice coaley about 1.5lb, second cast, same again, loocked over to were Carl was fishing to see him fighting to land what turned out to be 4 Mackerel on a set of fethers on his little spinning rod. It wasnt long before i was getting hit by the Mackerel, i dedcided to take this opitunity, while i knew the fish were there to try out some Jellys, second cast i got a good take and landed a good size coaley

Next Cast boom Pollock on



The fishing was good for the next few hours, taking more coaley, pollock, mackerel and a few launce on lures. All in all a canny little session.

Aye ive seen alot of coalies caught from there lately , getting busy though hard to find a spot ..Where on the skere were you fishing at the castle .

Carl fished the end of the skeer I climbed down on to the lock a little further back

well done mate, i love it up there. looks like you got just about the best out of the mark for this time of year.

i notice your fixed spool, is it the one from lidl? if yes, did you find problems in locking the handle in position. mine is all floppy and i cant figure out how to tighted it up....

we both bought them FS reels from aldi, no problem with them at all handle wise mate..... I have a spear handle from a donor one I got if you want it. failing that contact the manufacturers website. They don't contact you back just send a new reel out... which is why I have a donor lol
