Well me and a few mates decided to have a try fishing Beadnell. We got there about 7:30am then fished one of the skeers. We were catching wrasse straight away average about 1lb. Then it went quiet at low water. Then I got a good bite, struck into it and it got fastened up. I give it some slack line hoping it would come off. It came free and I pulled in my very first cod of the season a nice 5lb kelpy cod. It total between us we 6 wrasse, 1 coalie, 2 scorpions and a very small pollack. It was a very enjoyable day.
