Beadnell

Im thinking about going up to Beadnell on saturday.Ive never fished up there before coming to think of it ive only been there once!!
Where is the best places to fish,nowt too extreme as i dont know the marks and dont want to be caught out by tides etc etc.

Hi Tilly,

I've fished up there quite a bit and find that the point (walk down the side of the lime kilns and out on the protruding rock edge) seems to produce better than other spots I've tried. Steep face tends to produce nice pollock and a wrasse with the odd summer cod. Sloping face casts into quite a dense weedbed but if you don't mind the tackle losses is normally quite good for the cod. Killer baits are crab for the cod, rag normally works well for everything else. Its easy to keep an eye on the tide and doesn't normally come up too fast. Be prepared to lose some gear though as it is very rough ground.

If your looking for something lighter on tackle you can fish beadnel bay, sandy bottom got mates who've had some good sessions with flatties but I've never had much luck myself.
