aiwa Tournament Mono,f1 ,penn senator.... canny abrasion for 25lb up to 30lb.I use the whiplash on a fixed spool and the power pro on a Abu 7500 I also use 70lb power pro on a penn 525 super mag I have no problem at all with the 7500 the 525is ok but I have the odd mishap but no more than I did with mono the one thing I did find strange was stopping striking into fish a gentle lift is all you need to do

I suppose people use what has stood them in good stead for years, me personally i use 30lb ultima distance cos ive never had a problem with it, however i always thought that the thicker lines are better over rough stuff as they give better abrasion resistance against the rocks. Distance is 0.50mm at 30lb.
That said however one mans rough stuff is another mans clean/snaggy ground, i.e Shields pier...rough or snaggy? for me its snaggy for others it may be hells bowels!

To date the best line I've ever used is Sakuma Dark Crystal. It's has all the qualities of an excellent line, good knot strenght, good strenght to diameter ratio, excellent abraision resistance and doesnt stretch like **** when when snagged, etc.
I rate it that highly, to me its the best line bar none, and I've used quite a few good lines in the past few years, but none as good as this.

i have used most and diifferent types of line and to me there is not a lot between them, it depends how and wher the line is used, i have used so called good line, thats never lasted a session, on the other hand have used what5 others say crappy an its been on me reel for weeks and now a have been using greys greylon for over a year now and for me it is the bees knees especially at the price a have been getting it at. £3.33 for 1000 mtrs

good bit of info there.
Do you use this in thicker diameters fishing it straight through or with shockleader? i found it to slip alot at the knots.
use with out shockleader,but i make sure to chop a few inches off line for next session for safety, and tie me knots with 3 turn blood knot with a tuck plenty saliva and make sure you pull tight, , also I dont class my self a power caster if you are a powqer caster would suggest a shockr on
Tried it in 40lb but found it broke quite easy for a 40lb line, switched to 40lb berkley triline and cant remember the last time i had a break with it, only problem is it costs alot more.

daiwa sensor as strong as tow rope. and cheap as chips.
bit thick in the diameter but i love it.
35lb straight through on the kelp beds.
18lb and a 60 shocker on me clean ground.
cant beat it.

The problem is not just with the line its how your tying your knots. Not sure what you using but certainly ditch blood knots and learn to tie a decent uni knot, problem solved. greylon does slip a bit however when pulling knots up!
Use greylon myself, or should i say using some spools up and its ok. The 80lb is very good rig mono, very strong and reliable for distance casting but make sure knots are well tightened.
Buy by diameter, the stronger for the diameter the better 0.38-0.4m is perfect on a 525, 0.5.-06 on a slosh.
Some lines in lighter diameters are better than others but in the heavier strains theres a lot less in it. Most cheap clear 30lb line is ideal for the weeds
Im using berkely XTs in 18-20 and its very strong, along the lines of sensor but a touch less wiry.
The 45lb xts is only 0.5 so far so good!!
all a can say is I have very few problems, my line last a while never snaps without a reason e.g. getting wrapped round obstacles like gulls, boats, dans etc , also do not get many birds nests, probably less than most.
how is it snapping, on the cast or tying knot,if the cast try slowing the cast down and try not to jerk , if tying knots plenty of saliva, hope that hlps

F1 for me is totally rubbish I bought some 30lb for fishing bemton cliffs with the idea of thinner line to get more line on my penn 535. First snag it snapped right where it only just touched the cliff top before even getting a good pull at it. Ok for beaches maybe but even then I wouldn't like to lose a good fish just because it had rubbed on a stone or something.

I used to use sensor, but never again. Found it way to easy to break, especially when snagged, was about as abrasion resistant as a sponge cake, and way to thick diameter for its poundage. A suppose the much thicker diameter of the line, such as 40lb+, would probably be better.
Ultima F1 on the other hand i would rate much higher than sensor, but knowhere near Sakuma,as F1 also still seems to have that snapping too easy factor...
As all line goes though its everyone to there own. Everybody has there favourite line, some like it cheap and cheerful, others must have the best on the market, and in the end it always comes down to person choice.

Suffix Tritanium is a top notch line banana Well worth a try, its cheap too. And soft, knots lovely. I rate it higher than sensor, i found sensor unreliable sometimes... And F1 pfft... biggest pile of pap i ever bought.
