best place for a vhf radio

i need to buy a new handheld vhf radio, is there anywhere local ..between tees and tyne area... my old one has packed in ..its had water get into the workings and has corroded ..
can anyone recommend a place to buy...or is any one selling one..

I would definitely get a DSC radio, even if you haven't got a gps to link it to. You can always link it up later.
I read all the reviews, chose which one I wanted and then found the cheapest reliable place I could online.
I ended up getting the standard horizon GX1500 and have been pleased with it.

no worries geoff, thought you must have, cos when i googled your recommendation i saw it was a fixed set...
hopefully i wont use my set to contact coastguard for help!! just to moniter channels from my yak..
