Best place for large halibut?

im not 100% mate but i think halibut are proper rare!!! around here like one or two a year if lucky!!! sayin that if more anglers fished hard on the bottom ya never jnow hey!!!

Dab, plaice, flounder yes...brill, turbot and butts far less chance.

Boats??? i doubt any charter would do it unless you booked maybe the full boat for an evening trip and informed him before hand thats what you wished to do. £20 for 5 hours i think it was.

Dabs plaice and flounder where?
An what size are you talkin about ?

I wouldn't be using a charter boat

Anywhere on sand or mudd, back of Tynemouth pier, around Marsden etc...doubt you see anything over the 4lb mark with most being 1/2lb upto 1lb.

Its not a type of fishing that interests people.

Try 1/2 mile off Tynemouth pier online with the car park on the cliff or clock tower, or if your further north try the hot water outlet pipe at Newbiggian, if south around souter just look for a clean bottom.

3/4 of a mile off tynenouth pier will produce plenty of flatty action ...lots of dabs a few plaice and even the odd turbot and brill thrown in ! worm baits tipped with mac strip on small hook traces with lots of beads and spinners and sequins etc ......one of my fav past times sitting at anchor relaxing instead of tearing from wk to wk
