Had to take my 14' mk2 Apollo in for repairs to three rings.Took it to Temples,Frasers,Lewis don't know who actualy carried out the repairs but they did a top notch job couldn't spot the rings which had been replaced.

yes the guy that whips the rods for frazers has whipped 5 rods for me over the years and and can't fault his work and would recommend him every time and your not able tell his work from those whipped by the makers

I think the fella you're referring to is the gentleman that passed away not long ago as he also did my Conoflex last year

There must be a different guy doing it all now

I know a guy called George (can't remember what he goes by on here) who does them for Billy's in North Shields. He lives near killingworth I think and would probs meet you if you wanted it doing. I got my conoflex highlander done off him and he done an amazing job. You can contact him on 07782130301

George is doing the work for Lewis's since the death of Billy Brown, who used to do all their work. He did a very good job re-whipping an old Apollo tip section for me recently - matches the butt perfectly.

Cheers, Gary :)

PS. BTW, there is now a memorial plaque on Blyth Pier to Billy, highlighting the "X" mark, one of his favourite shots.

Hallo , over the years mate I've had 'em done at ID, Frasers and Rutherfords and they've all been spot on between £5 and £10 for a single ring, got a full rod refurbed at Rutherfords recently for £65, mint job, chuffed to bits

bought a stripped conoflex cod 6 with 2 tip sections which i got varnished and re-rung at frasers total cost was only £120 when i got it back it looked like new. varnish two tips and butt 2sets of rings and new diamond shrink wrap fitted well happy with the price. Recommend them to anyone for repair. Even put a tip ring on a rod in the shop for a £5 for me
