I have used my Shakespeare SALT one on the last few occasions on the pier. Much more comfortable to use that a beta box (which has now been put aside for beach fishing only). Had it a couple of years. The zips break easily if you don't look after them and the draw cord eyes are rusting. However, good value for around £20. I will be interested to see if this thread throws up some new ideas.

when i use to fish before i used the titan one , but if the weather was for rain i use seat box

now its just seat box as i dunno what happened to the rucksack ( might of thrown it out as the zip was bust on the big front pocket )

Not a fishing one but i used this yesterday the amount of room and compartments it has is unreal

If its good enough for the US army its good enough for fishing lol

it came from a US soldier in iraq who gave it to my dad and he then gave it to my son :D:D

Bugout Gear - 3 Day Pass

pricey but quality gear

I use the Greys Apollo rucksack and I can say it is probably the best on the market today.

It has 3 big + deep external pockets and one large 35lt main capacity. Zips are stainless steel so rust isnt an issue. Two easily adjustable and comfortable straps are capable of carrying a fairly heavy load, also there are adjustable chest and waist strap for extra comfort and carrying strength.
Best of all though is the fact that it has a solid plastic bottom, which is great if your fishing the likes of rock marks and piers, as over time the hard ground can where away bags made of even tough material, but with this added feature it cannot happen and also protects your gear inside from hard knocks, bumps, etc.

Hope this helps your choice matey. :)

Ian Golds Supermatch rucksack is very good - nicely laid out with plenty of pockets, and can be easily accessed when hung from my tripod on certain marks. Had mine for a few years now and all the zips etc are still intact, mind I do give them a squirt with WD40 every now and again. I only use my box on beaches these days where windblown sand is easier to clean off than the rucksack & it doesn't matter if it's sitting in a few inches of water - use my rucksack probably 95% of the time.

Boxes also useful if you fancy a sit down though.

Gary :)

the Greys Prodigy Tackle Base Rucksack looks a good bit of kit

wonder how it would handle being used for sea fishing

even has an insulated compartment

Got a greys but all the zips have gone, salt corrosion has bust all of them, my fault though, due to not cleaning them and letting it sit for months! also found when carring a lot of weight, the plastic base digs right into your spine:o
Still a good bag though!
