Better than a blank!

Today after looking at the swell report I knew I was in for a calm sea, so couldn't wait to get out. Alongside doing a bit of jigging for cod I had hoped to get a few mackerel on the spinner. But alas, today I just couldn't find them. I did manage a cod around the 3lb mark though, so it was better than a blank!

Nice fish.
My mate launched from Latimers yesterday morning at 6am, had 4 cod to 4lb 8 ozs all on shads.

Iye Dale, I generally launch off the big beach in Shields, and I am normally about 1/2 mile off the cliffs.
