big pouting

you here people say they are full of bones what fish is not i suppose because most of them are small and you cannot get agood fillet of them but this 1 was a good size my wife is a chef and she cooked it in the oven a few mushy peas and some potatoes it was lovely but i no everybodys taste buds are,nt the same i suppose if you got a reasonable size 1 you could eat it of the bone and see for yourself.

Thanks for the info mate. If I ever catch a keeper like that I might give it a try which probably means I'll never get to taste one.
 
Cracking pout that. I've eaten them many times, simpley cause they don't return well, even in the boat. They are a bit like whiting to eat, but a little more care needed when filleting, and best to descale them first.
