Im looking for a better rod i have a 14' greys orion mk2 and am really happy with it all being a bit heavy my second is a sonic sks 13' which i would like to replace as bite detection is pants its too stiff any ideas would like another 13' looking around the £150 tops ?

You might, just might find a second hand AFAW Tournament match for that money - by far my favourite rod for everything bar the heavy stuff, whether chucking 4oz and a flatty-rig in the summer or 6/7oz & two big cod baits in the winter. At 13ft 10in it's a bit longer than what you say you're looking for, but you might want to check out the 13ft 4in regular AFAW Match rod - haven't used one myself but knowing a few people who've got one they rate them very highly too, and again second hand should be within your budget.

What's the difference between say the match and afaw 6 and bait? Apart from the price lol
1 is red and the other is blue :p

AFAW Match:
13’ 4” high modulus low diameter carbon blank

very sensitive match tip

casts 150 - 175grm with three baits

subtle rod graphics

genuine Fuji BMNAG guides

non-slip shrink tube

custom style black tipped red slim whippings

high quality size 27mm stainless steel coasters with duplon inserts.

custom made rod bag which also has a
reducer pocket built in

AFAW 6 & Bait:

This rod is available in 12, 13 and 14ft lengths, in either fixed spool or multiplier. It does exactly what it says on the tin! Whether it is a pennel rig loaded with crab and mussel for cod off the rocks, or a 3-hooked clipped rig for whiting and dabs off the beach, you basically stick 6oz on it and whack it!
Depending on your preference of reel up or reel down, the multiplier on the 13 and 14ft versions is accompanied by coasters. The fixed spool version has a fixed reel seat with duplons. As with all of our rods, they are finished with Fuji rings and are made in two equal sections.
This rod is the best of its price!
