Blast beach snag fest

I fished blast beach last night, north end, got plenty of bites, lost a shed load of geAr, every cast fast, I kept moving down the beach a bit to try and keep out of the snags, then when I found a clear patch lost the bloody fish. SeA was flat as fart, so we decided to go back up top and have a chuck of nose point, quite cool up there, first time I've cliff fished and I enjoyed it, it's always good to give something new a go, I'll definitely be doing it again. Anyway we had a few rattles lost some more gear and buggered off home. I think I would have been reet ****ed off with the whole thing if it was for the couple of chucks of the cliff, opens up a whole new door of sea fishing for me.

That shoreline is a nightmare at the moment. there must be a few ton of lead and old line 60-70yds out. Careful on the nose, especially if lifting fish.

The blast is a very snaggy place compared to what it used to be since the pit close the beach has cleaned up loads and all the snags are showing.

You have to know it to fish it so they say wish i could tell ya the spots where ya dont lose gear but i dont know them my self never fished there for years but it still fishes well.

Was there many down there mate? Hall beach was packed, especially up the top end by the caves.

I like the Blast, was one of my favourite shots along with Horden years ago but I guess due to the snags it is hardly fished now. I know last time I was down I had the whole beach to myself, don't usually mind fishing alone but it is eerie as hell down there with the cliffs looming behind you in the dark ...

Not another soul down there mate, saw one lad have a few chucks of nose point, he left before dark but no one on the beach, south end seems less snaggy than the north but that was only the fourth time I've fished it.

Know what you mean eerie Stuart, a canny few years ago I fished Sugar sands in darkest Northumberland into the dark with not a soul around. It was one of those knights you couldn't see your hand in front of you with no orange glow in the sky as there are no town street lighting around.
Already feeling creepy, I could hear footsteps comming from behind and towards me as I was facing the sea holding my rod. Nervously but quickly tuning my pit lamp on and turning round to face whoever it was, I was confronted by this bloody great cows head only inches from me, well, my knees went to jelly, my underpants to brown, I don't know who got the biggest fright, me or the cow.
I had one more cast but, couldn't relax, so packed up and went home.

Thanks for that one Arthur, my colleague in the office earlier shot me a very strange look when I suddenly burst out laughing for no apparent reason :red:

cats eyes a few yrs back was about the only clean bit on the blast not sure about now maybe someone will let us no.
