Reading the “Blyth Pier Litter” topic in “SHORE FISHING” and digging out the press cuttings of our “Bin Your Litter” campaign have stirred me in to action about the promotion of NESA and our activities (particularly the great success in the RNLI fund raising).

Elton has previously mentioned to me that such efforts deserve recognition, so with that in mind, I’ve drafted a press release, blowing our own trumpet regarding the success of the RNLI fund raising.

I’ve submitted it to Elton for his approval before I do anything with it.

It’s my intention to send it to the N.E. based newspapers The Journal, The Chronicle and the Shields Gazette. Elton may also want to send it to the angling press (?)

I\'ve always dreamt about blowing my own trumpet - well you would if you could wouldn\'t you??

The release can only do us good. I don\'t see why it shouldn\'t go to the national angling press either. Getting the NESA \'Brand\' out there might prove to be useful in a number of ways. Least of all it gives it some credability if we stick some more signs on the piers. Send it out and then follow it up with another in a few weeks regarding a \'clean up\' campaign, then another post clean etc etc etc.

From a purely commercial point of view, this site is not far away from attracting a bit of sponsorship/advertising. Getting the \'brand\' out there can only help this along

As the logo on the badge says Mark, NESA was sponsored by Titan. I\'m not sure just what that meant (other than they had the badges produced for us), or whether or not that is still the case (I\'ll have to check that out)

I\'d love to see the \"brand\" NESA become nationally synonymous (think I\'ve spelt that right, but after 8 pints of John Smiths, I don\'t care...hic) with sea angling and a voice to be listened to.

worth thinking about/discussing with elton. I don\'t want to tread on toes, and I don\'t know what elton\'s pland for the site are, but I\'m guessing from the amount of traffic that comes through that there is the potential there. I\'ve sold space on sites with less traffic, and in a less clearly defined market sector. If the funds largely go to support something like the RNLI, it may make it more attractive still

Definitely something to consider, Mark.
I\'ll wait & see what Elton thinks about the press release, m8.

I\'d dearly love to see the day when NESA has become so well known and recognised that we have the likes of Alan Yates, Dave Lewis, Neil McKellow, Roger Bayzand, John Wilson and the like, sporting NESA badges on their clothing and posting on the Board (even if only occassionally).......lol

Oh dear....I think the beer\'s startin\' to kick - in :exclam:

Aye John,

He\'s already a long standing NESA member (of whom we are all justly proud) :D ;)

There is no reason why this site should not move on and up. Just to reiterate what other people say, this site is pretty fantastic by any standards. There can\"t be many sites where you put a question up and you know you will get an answer.

I agree, TSF site has lots of traffic and a hardcore of regulars but sometimes the threads seem to get side-tracked right from the off with peoples agendas and that doesn\'t happen so much here. I know things can divert a bit but this is still a good site and achievements should be recognised.

Looked on alot of other fishing sites and this one takes some beating, read replies etc on other forums (not Andy\'s or the other ne based site) and there seems to be very little restrictions on what you can say therefore they appear to be very unprofessional.
(am struggling on how to put this hope you\'s get my drift cos if i say what i really think i\'ll either get slated od tc will edited it )

Dream on TC, but personally i think the sites gone as far as it can go,dont get me wrong i think the site is great for local info and up to date catch reports, but thats it.Sorry if my remarks offend anyone but im just saying the way i see it.

And heres me thinking that \"my old mate aahskins\" had not registered on the new board - old members will know what i am on about - new members will get the \"gist\" - SILVERS you have posted twice so far and both are sh*te - Dont insult TC or other posts \"???????????????????????????\" was a great introduction to NESA. :casstet: :casstet:

Ahh a troll, to give him his \'techical/webby\' description. Not seen one in here before. They are a rare and timid creature, and as such should be pitied. True to the nature of their species, they\'ll will appear out of the background from time to time, and hide behind an anonymous persona, their ego satisfied, and inferior manhood re-affirmed by the hostile reaction to their posts.

Ahhhh Bless
xxx
