Fished from 19:30 till 22:30, started at the middle toilets, sea looked perfect but could not hold bottom, tried for about an hour but having to reel in every five mins gear getting washed down the beach, can't understand it as I have fished in conditions that looked rougher than that and have been able to hold bottom.

Any way, decided to move further up the beach to get a bit shelter from the pier, tried near the caravan storage, even there I was struggling to hold bottom, and the sea was just nice. Soon got sick and called it a day, reeled a codling of about 3/4lb in on my last cast and returned it.

Spoke to one guy on the beach who had also tried the middle of the beach and couldn't hold bottom so had moved up, he'd got one codling about 1/2lb. A few people fishing just up from him but he says they didn't seem to be having much luck either.

As soon as you can hold bottom get on that beach, there has to be fish there.

Aye it's a wee bit frustrating at the moment mate. We had the same crack the last three nights perfect conditions and no fish.

By the way, if you are going to fish the middle toilet area you really need to learn how to hold bottom mind lol. ;) :D :D :D

fished the seaton sluice end on friday night too, from about 7.30 till 10.30. Not a single bite. Fished a 6oz gripper and no bother holding bottom.

Blyth beach is a bit strange compared to most beaches. It will sometimes fish with next to no tidal pull and on other occasions you will be dragged down the beach in no time at all.
