Fished middle toilets. Load of crap
With 2 mates fished 1hr before LW for 5hrs didn't even have a bite. Big juicy baits left untouched. Used Rag, lug, frozen crab, mackeral, sprats, mussel. Sea looked good with big breakers
2 guys fishing 100yds away left early. 2 anglers joined us having fished Cambois said nothing much happening there either. Suspect mark I fished was a high tide mark but had to leave 2hrs before HW as mate wanted to go home( other one left hrs earlier). Still it was a good night and had a good crack. Haven't fished Blyth for about 10 yrs, used to be ok at LW.
Without giving away any secrets can anyone give me some pointers for this beach as I will try there again

It would be crap its a toilet :)

Should pick up when the sea drops abit, i am even thinking of wetting a line.

Mate text from Marsden beach cant hold ottom so moving to cliffs but it was lashing down.

cheers thats about where I was but it wasn't a big tide so perhaps I was fishing on top of a sandbank instead of over it. At high tide at same mark there is a really big hole scoured out
which I will certainly try to fish again.

I have had some good sessions at nark 17 and Meggies burn but you really need a metre or under tide.
Plus in the middle of the houses at Blyth, next to the new car park, decent hole about a hundred yards out if you can find it.
I prefer if its quiet to use a lead that will roll and maybe find the holes itself.

I always tell people to have a walk along the beach and find all the holes as they can be there one day and be gone a day later if there is a sea on. From the bottom end of the Sluice beach to the middle toilets can fish well at high water as there are always some good holes close in. Further up by the farm is the same and like the rest of the beach it will regularly do well a couple of hours each side of low water.

That said though, the last three years or so Blyth beach has not fished as consistantly as it used to, a few have mentioned the same thing over the last season. Whether the beach has changed in any way I don't know but that is how I have found it. A walk along at low water during the day will tell you a lot though ;) there used to always be some cracking holes near the Astley Arms area and very close in too. just because they are only 20 -30 yards out doesn't mean they won't have fish in them.

Jim.

thanks for all the advice, will certainly try this beach again. It used to be brilliant in the 80s and 90s for cod. In them days I suppose there were more fish around, I could catch cod then.

the beach has been fishing well in the right conditions lads, high & low.
a few fish around the 6 & 7lb avrg 2 1/2-3lb fish every week from blyth in our club matches.
