well went down to blyth harbour today to use up some bait i had

first cast a small colie 2 inch long then then every cast for 2 hours hook was only in the water 2 mins and was hooked

biggest was about 4 inch


no idea what fish they were as im a noob they had black spots all over them

must have caught 30 in 3 hours

Err where were you? sounds like baby trout, must have been using tiny hooks!

just on the harbour its self i was using size 3 hooks

They look like whiting mate. dont know what the ones with black spots were! trout and whiting would not be in same place.

ive caught baby trout at spillers at newcaastle on rag before can you not get whiting that far up river like cause theres plenty of codling around

Sounds like small sea trout to me.

i am not sure what they are but i have caught loads when i used to fish blyth i thought they were just sprats or very small coalies
