Blyth lifeboat.

While out fishing tonight we bumped into the man that is trying to sort out the finance for the Blyth Lifeboat ( sorry did not catch your name if you read this). He was telling us that one of the Blyth fishing boats broke down and had to be rescued. Took the Tyne lifeboat 20 minutes to get there which I think is a very good time. The Blyth boat he said would have been there in ten minutes. Still everything worked out ok this time and it was successfull. Lets hope the Blyth people are successfull in raising the rest of the monies needed to finance there boat. Good luck to you.

Jim.

Was it John Tuttiett, Jim? he\'s the co founder of BVLS and the guy who\'s registered on NESA as \"BVLS\".

Heard about the call out on the late N.E. news Jim.
The fishing boat had become stuck on the \"Pig and Sow\" ?? rocks off Cambois. Don\'t think the cew were in any danger (?). Had they been so, then I think the local inshore boats would have been called out also.

Jim,a lad I work with is the Chief Mechenic (hope thats right) and fundraiser for BVLS,not that its here yet,his name is Kerri Merilo,he went to Caistor in Norfolk the other week to have a sea trial session with the boat they want,he brought the photos to work and it looked very impressive, think John is the Photographer.I told Kerri about this site and the fundraising for the RNLI........Credit where its due he congratulated everyone for putting so much effort into raising money for the RNLI........I said who knows in the future but I said its always been for the RNLI as far as I know...........best of luck to them all,I think they will get there £20k down payment raised in time,I believe theres a meeting very shortly to sort it out.

bottom line i think is ten minutes could make all the difference if someone was in the water, best of luck to them but the point has been raised as to wether the coast guard will call on them ,couldnt the rnli take them back into the fold as a self funded boat ?
