Blyth Pier 11th Jan 2010

Fished Blyth pier again tonight, sea conditions were spot on.

Started at 18:00 and finished at 23:00.

First few chucks, had good knocks which came to nothing.
About 2hrs in and I lost a fish around the 3lb mark right at the top of the pier.
All went quiet for a while, then at 22:20 I got a good bite that ended with a nice clean codling of 2lb 4oz in the bag.
Only had one more chuck after that as I had to get home, I had forgot my keys & wor lass was waiting up for me getting in.
Would have stopped longer if it was not for her having to get up with the kids for school in the morning.

At least that's another for 2010

Good to know there's still the odd fish off there - I was down on sunday evening for a few hours and there was nothing, although the lad next door got one about 3lb just as I was leaving. Seems that there's the odd fish most tides, but considering the conditions the pier has fished exceptionally poorly so far.......

nice one daz maybe i should of stayed longer u must of got that soon after i spoke to you on the way off, i only had two tommys that obviously went back but a cracking bite on last cast , i struck to soon came to nothing , well done mate , regards graham.

Aye Graham, I think that you would have just about got off the pier when I got it.

We must have left around the same time, it was 11pm when I left the pier also m8.
