Well as mentioned in another thread I headed down to Blyth Pier for a spin and a float...met up with Gregg

Anywho t'was as I expected really not overly condusive to puling in macky by the dozen - although there were some getting pulled in at the end (it's the best spot y'knar!!!)

First fish was actually a foul hooked launce

Even managed a 1/2 pound Pollock - all fish fell to float fished ragworm

All in all a canny night - even tho the macky stayed away

Nice one Tony - haven't seen a pollack (or is it Colin:D) from the pier for a while. See you've been using the right spinner anyway - apparently that was the one that was doing the business last night. Good luck for sunday mate :)

Gary :)

for info if you walk 15ft up from the bend and cast straight out 30yards there's something geet snaggy...be it weed or what I dunno, but it's got 4 spinners of mine now :(:D

Yeah, there's a snag there at longer range too - it's one spot I rarely fish because of it - a few more yards either way & all's ok. Seems confined to a tight area though - maybe a small patch of rough as I've had the odd lobster out of there. On the other hand could be 5,000 mangled daylights...................:D

That snag mate is probably the old railings and fence that used to be at the end. I think when the council removed the fence they just chucked it over the side of the pier...so I've heard anyway.
