What's Blyth pier been like in the weekday afternoons/early evening crowds wise with the macky bashers?
Just started a new project at work so my time's are back to being limited, didn't fancy the daytimes/evenings on the weekends and my bed has been way too comfy this weekend for the early mornings.

Daft non-fishy one - Amble... don't recall seeing any in the past and sure I've asked this before, but are there any Indian or Chinese restaurants in Amble (sitty downs, not take-away's). I know there's an Italian place, cafe's etc and at least one each chinese and indian take-away. But google/yell.com aren't bringing any sit down places back in the results.

Me either mate, was debating popping up for a wander around at some point with the other half and stay overnight in one of the B&B's as a quiet little evening away from the kids and dogs. Had a look on google streetview but couldn't spot any on there in the main streets.

My mates answer via E mail:

There aren't any sitty downs in Amble, just take away's.
There is an Indians in Shilbottle which is meant to be a good one and in Morpeth there is a Chinese and Indians, but I don't know what they are like.
Amble has Zecca's, which is Italian and the Wellwood which is English food..
But there are a few English restaurants in Walkworth..
I hope this helps.

Lowrider, can you pass on my thanks to your mate, if we get up there I'll either check out the English places or pop over to shillbottle :)

Phil - yeah I figured as much, only been along 3 or 4 times so far this year and made them early mornings each time. Guess I'll just have to drag my backside out of bed at silly-o'clock again! :D

There's the Golden Harbour in Amble (dunno if it's just takeaway)

The Bengal at Shilbottle

And the SPice Galleon at Alnmouth.
Here's a review: The Schooner Inn and Spice Galleon, Alnmouth. Tel: 01665 830216

The Spice Galleon, Alnmouth. Indian cuisine. Eat in or takeaway. Don't be put off by the tatty exterior, it's smart enough inside. Open 12-2pm and 5-11:30pm. Well recommended by many of our guests. Tel: 01665 830216

I have had a takeaway from the Spice Galleon and it was V nice.

If you want a nice pud, then try Cabosse in Warkworth....The Rum ba ba's are to die for

There are 2 sit down Indians i Morpeth. The Manzils is great and has cracking staff who i now refer to as pretty good friends. The other is the Taj mahal, food good staff not to good, no banter.
Morpeth town is full of other sit in places, as well as Indians we have Chinese, Italian, Thai, English. Bit of a hike from Amble though.
