Yes we were holding bottom and we were fishing on the seaward side but picking up plenty of weed, yes we had to hand ball it up well done gundog on your fish

i prefer it on the ebb but it is a venue where fish can turn up at any time this is my personal opinion have had a 20lb bag off blyth in past years fish up 2 7lb and seen lots of doubles its also a good venue where u can actually beach or use a drop net successfully with good results hope this helps.

Well done.was on pier myself ended night with 3 cod." 2 of them were caught on fresh sprats.Caught 7 fish in total some colies rest cod returned most.Great night but wind a bit chilly.

you have it about right there m8.

Thanks all I'm torn now whether to head up there tonight or wait till it dies of and fish a beach Tuesday night.

Decisions decisions

what a few of us did if undecided what to do was head for newbiggen about 4o min for you.

if realy big head for blyth west pier/if not big enough there then newbiggen you have the cliff tops but care to be taking a life was lost there last winter erroding cliffs or you have newbiggen bay /if not big enough for there then it would be lynburn beach.

or another option the beach between roker pier and old north pier can be very good at times ,a high water mark but i prefer the colder months here throws up some canny fish from time to time, tend to like the area in middle to near roker pier.
