Had a walk along the pier this moring and it was a complete sh#t tip, rubbish everywhere, bottles, paper, line, old bait etc etc it was even worse one day last week. The pier is open to EVERYONE all it will take is for someone having a walk along there to trip/slip on the crap that is lying around and and bang a claim in,The Port Authority could then close the pier, its probably one of the best piers around the North East for access.Alot of NESA members fish on Blyth Pier so take your rubbish home with you please.I would imagine Shields/Roker Pier is the same.
When the big gates go up don\'t complain about it on NESA

Well said Alan.
The only difference at Roker pier is that the sea washes right over it when it is rough and cleans it. :casstet:.

Well said Alan m8.

Some people just won\'t take their rubbish home and it makes us all look bad because we all get tarred with the same brush :(

It takes nothing to carry a spare carrier bag in with your gear to put any rubbish in and remove it from wherever you are fishing.

Hope it does not take the port of Blyth to close the pier to learn these idiots.

Well as we all know there is a bin at the entrance to the beach. We do not even have to take it home as it can be put in there. Everyone that fishes the pier has to walk past it. :casstet: :casstet:

Jim.

I said last time this rant came up,these people are\'nt kids, one night when i was fishing I thought someone had left some of there gear so i walked over to have a look,it was a black bin bag full of rubbish, these were four lads probably in there 50\'s :casstet:

Well said Alan
The last time I visited the pier a couple of weeks ago I spent most of my visit cutting up disgarded line wrapped arround the rails and just spread along the length of the pier. Given everything that has been publcised about disgarding nylon what are these people thinking about. Yet more ammunition for those who oppose all we enjoy.

LOL :D . Jim were you fishing the pier onsunday night because there was a few headlamps on and sum were flashing towards tynemouth pier!

Fished at Cullernose today. The place is a f*cking disgrace.
Discarded line everywhere, plastic bags and other rubbish, clearly left by \"anglers\"( because of the rotting bait inside them) stuffed into any available crevice.
Litter is a major problem all up and down our beatiful coastline, and \"anglers\" must be educated to take their rubbish home.

Rant over.

Can\'t understand it Tony. All they have to do is throw the excess bait into the sea and take the empty bags home :casstet: .
Some people will never learn.

Jim.

on shields pier it\'s not just the rubbish its stinks of urine at the very end.
Jonny you should wash it with a bit soap and hot water LOL :D

But your dead right about THE PIER end ,it is lifting ,and in the summer it is REALLY stinking- i reckon you will never stop people taking a leak ,but hey you have the Whole North Sea to aim at and a few million gallons to dilute it ,instead of trying to explain to the bairns why it smells so bad and there is so many flies :casstet: :casstet:
